Honey Sun
We set our chairs beneath the sun.  Thick flies swarmed around us, black and buzzing and big-eyed, but they couldn’t break through our nets.  Leaning back we closed our eyes and let the sun bleed in.  Absorbing it in through our fingers, we let it settle in our bellies, thick and warm and heavy.  Like sweet honey, it coated our tongues so we couldn’t even speak.

I swear, my roommate from last year/suitemate for...
You see, my problem is that I always forgive people, always, even when they don’t deserve it.  Clearly, I need to work on this.  It’s not okay for her to keep getting away with her hissy fit tantrums. My niece is more mature than her, and she barely just turned four.  It’s semi-ridiculous and mildly entertaining.  I just wish I was watching it instead of living it.
